Redditch United would like to reflect on the previous week and thank you for your fantastic support.
As a club, we have promoted the importance of increasing match day attendances to enable the club to be competitive in a strong league, whilst also remaining financially sustainable.
We had our free entry game on Monday 15th January which saw 1,223 people join us on a sub-zero-degree evening, and a further 1,502 people for our derby against Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday 20th January. With the Reds taking 6 points from a possible 6 and keeping clean sheets in both, it propelled us to the top of the Southern League Central.
Although a long way to go in the season just yet, Redditch United continues to improve both on and off the field. Saturday’s crowd saw us have the 11th-highest attendance in the entire Non-League pyramid, it’s fantastic to see us amongst the likes of Yeovil Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Hereford, Torquay United, Bromley & Macclesfield.
As it currently stands, our average attendance is 602 for this season, which is higher than any previous season averages on record. Our attendances have seen a 36% increase compared to last season, which is the highest increase recorded by any team in our division. The atmosphere at the previous two games has been fantastic and has spurred the team on to back-to-back wins, it would be fantastic to see you all back for our 7 remaining home games – starting on Saturday 3rd February against St Ives (click here for discounted tickets).
The club has a firm ambition to grow its footprint within the local community. Our groundbreaking season ticket offer, match day initiatives and increased marketing activities have all helped to make Redditch United attractive and affordable to all. Redditch United works with a large number of local schools and charities as we strive to be the team of the town and have a positive impact on the local community. We would like to thank all of our partners who have helped support our journey so far.
There is a long way to go in the season, but it’s an exciting time to be a part of the Reds family which we hope will continue to grow and continue in the same vein.
