RUFC in the Community

We are excited to launch Redditch United in the Community, which is a Community Interest Company – CIC

Aim

Our primary aim is to provide sports participation and activity clubs for children, young people and vulnerable adults within high areas of deprivation in Redditch.

Purpose

With the current cost of living crisis, families in Redditch are having to make tough financial decisions.  Unfortunately taking part in sport or joining a team has become a luxury commodity which families can no longer justify in their household budgets.

We want sport, physical activity and sense of well-being accessible for everyone in Redditch.

How

The community will benefit by having access to sports participation opportunities and facilities at little or no cost.  We will have a culture of creating inspiring experiences for every service user.

In-order to do this we will have a key emphasis on working in collaboration with other youth service providers and charities to ensure our services meet the needs of the community.

Our provision will be delivered through our core delivery pillars:

Disability Sports

We currently deliver walking football, and adapted sport sessions such as rugby and cricket.

These sessions are part of our partnership with Parkinson’s UK, HBVC, Worcestershire Cricket Club and Worcester Warriors Foundation.

These sessions currently run for 2hrs per week at the football club.  Plan is to deliver an additional session at the Redditch & Bromsgrove Parkinson’s activity group, based at the Oakenshaw community centre.

We are passionate about providing sports and activities for all and plan to provide additional opportunities to support the needs of the community.

These activities will range from drop in tea and coffee mornings, board game clubs, arts & crafts, boxercise, boccia, physical literacy and wellbeing sessions.
